How scores are built
Deterministic components, fixed ceilings, no AI in the arithmetic.

Every Midaris score is computed in code from named components with fixed maximums, shown in the report's score-breakdown table. The AI layer writes the explanation; it cannot change a number. A component whose data is missing contributes zero and is listed under data gaps — nothing is estimated to fill the space. Classification bands (for example 40–59 "neutral") are fixed thresholds on the total. Confidence is a separate reading of input completeness and freshness. Third-party inputs — analyst ratings, estimates, CFTC labels, provider health grades — are reproduced with attribution and never adopted as a Midaris view. Midaris provides software for financial research and education; it does not provide investment advice.
